How is Recovery?
Dysport treatments are designed to be minimally invasive with virtually no downtime, allowing you to return to normal activities immediately. Some patients may experience temporary side effects, including redness at injection sites (typically resolving within hours), minor swelling (mild and brief, usually subsiding within 24 hours), occasional bruising at injection sites and mild tenderness when touching treated areas (resolving within days).
The recovery timeline for Dysport is predictable and brief. During the first 0-4 hours, you may notice potential pinpoint redness at injection sites. Between days 1-2, you’ll begin to feel the muscle relaxation effect. By days 2-5, there’s typically a noticeable reduction in dynamic wrinkles with the full expression of results developing between days 7-10.
For optimal results, we recommend applying ice intermittently for the first few hours if needed, staying well-hydrated and protecting treated areas from excessive sun exposure. Contact us with any concerns or questions that arise during your recovery.
We advise against touching or massaging treated areas for 24 hours, avoiding strenuous exercise for 24 hours, lying down for 4 hours post-treatment and consuming alcohol for 24 hours. If you take blood-thinning medications, please discuss with your physician whether these can be temporarily paused around your treatment time.
